4 Days Nepal Itinerary: Nagarkot Sunrise & Bhaktapur Heritage Tour

Day 1: Arrival 

We will receive you on your arrival at Kathmandu international airport and escort you to your hotel. After check in, your tour manager provide briefing about the tour program and answer your queries. You are free to rest for a few hours afterwards. 

If you are experiencing jetlag we suggest you to prolong your rest. Subsequently you will not be starting your actual tour program today.

But if you are feeling opposite, full of energy and excitement, your tour begins today. Your tour guide will lead you off to nearby tourist sites. After sightseeing you will be dropped back to your hotel. Dinner at your own cost.

Day 2: Kathmandu full day sightseeing tour 

Today you will experience a full day sightseeing tour visiting five major world heritages sites of Kathmandu Valley. At 9.30am, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Swoyambhunath stupa. Regarded as the oldest Buddhist stupa in Nepal, it is an exemplary site to witness religious harmony among Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims. We will carry on our tour to Patan Durbar Square to explore medieval palaces, courtyards and famous temples such as Krishna Temple, Golden Temple, Bhimsen Temple etc.

Next, we visit Pashupatinath, biggest Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, to observe Hindu cremation site, interact with Sadhus and visit Deer & monkey park. We then drive further northeast of Pashupatinath to reach Boudhanath, a famous Tibetan Buddhist shrine. We take a lunch break here before exploring monasteries, doing kora of Boduhanath and learning about Thangka painting.

By late afternoon we will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square. Once a seat of Malla and Shah dyansties, Kathmandu Durbar Square today is an open museum for observing Newari arts and culture. Important sites to visit here include Kumari House, palace courtyard, erotic temple and Taleju temple. We then follow one of the many gulley eastward to arrive at Indrachowk which is an ancient trade point. You can taste the famous Nepali lassi here. We continue our stroll through colorful streets of Indrachowk to come up to Ason known as spice and vegetable market. We will pass several streets and finally head to a local Nepali restaurant for typical Nepalese cuisine accompanied by traditional dance performance. 

At about 8pm, you will be on your way back to hotel for overnight rest. 

Day 3: Yoga and Ayurveda retreat program

At 5am, we pick you up from your hotel and drive to Yoga center. Upon your arrival at Yoga center, Yoga guru will lecture you about yoga practices and meditation followed by interaction. The yoga session will involve following activities:

1. Nose Cleansing techniques
2. Breathing exercise
3. Asana Class

Take a 1 hr break to have yogi breakfast before continuing with the session:

1. Body Anatomy and Philosophy

Now you will enter into a retreat program which includes 1hr Ayurvedic massage and 15 min Ayurveda steam.  Afterwards go into lunch break and rest. 

Around 4pm in the afternoon, you will have round up class of yoga and meditation. At 5.30pm, we depart back to your hotel. 

Day 4: Nagarkot Sunrise and Bhaktapur Sightseeing tour 

Want to enjoy the beautiful sunrise view and Panoramic Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest? 

Early morning take an hour drive to Nagarkot to enjoy the beautiful sunrise and amazing views of Himalaya. 

On your way back to Kathmandu, you will have sightseeing tour in medieval city of Bhaktapur which is also known as living museum of Newari art and architecture.

After Bhaktapur sightseeing, you can choose from the options below

If your flight is sooner, we will directly drop you off at Kathmandu international airport

Or

If you are departing late in the evening, we will drive back to Kathmandu where you can spend some time shopping and relaxing. We will drive you to international airport for your departure flight as per your flight schedule.
