8-Day Nepal Sightseeing with Yoga, Meditation & Chisapani-Nagarkot Trek

Day 1: Arrival | Welcome to Nepal

Welcome to Kathmandu international airport. On your arrival at the airport, you will be relieved of any travel stress as our representative will welcome you, take care of your luggage and transfer you to hotel on a private car

After hotel check-in your tour manager will conduct a short program briefing over welcome drinks. 

Tips to Tailor-make your tour

Are you worried about jet lag? We suggest you have a proper rest in your hotel to help you adjust with climate and new environment. 

If you have extra bit of energy and enthusiasm you may spend strolling around nearby local market. Let us know in advance so we can arrange it accordingly. Just send us your preferences. 

Note: Dinner will be at your own expenses. 

Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing tour

The Kathmandu sightseeing tour begins at 9.30am when tour guide will pick you up and take you to following places:

• Asan, spice and vegetable market
• Indrachowk, ancient trade center
• Kathmandu Durbar Square 
• Freek Street

At about 1.30pm, you will have lunch in Patan Durbar Square enjoying a good view of surrounding durbar squares. After lunch we will continue sightseeing.

• Patan Durbar Square
• Pashupatinath
• Boudhanth

After completing sightseeing, in the evening, we will go to a local restaurant for traditional dinner while enjoying cultural dance performances.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Chisapani

We will pick you up at 8am from Thamel. It is recommended you have your breakfast before 8am. We will drive to Sundarijal, which is 17km northeast of Kathmandu and takes about 45 minutes. Sundarijal is the gateway of Shivapuri National Park and starting point of our trek. Sundarijal is a famous picnic spot for Kathmandu residents. 

We start our uphill Sundarijal Chisapani nagarkot trek from Sundarijal towards Chisapani. Around 5 hrs of trekking is required to reach Chisapani. Sundarijal to Chisapani trekking route falls within Shivapuri National Park so this is a good opportunity to see wild animals such as wild boars, barking deer and leopard along with hundreds of colorful birds. The trail is very quiet with no proper place for lunch until Chisapani. 

Chisapani offers good mountain views and traditional village lifestyle. Lunch and dinner will be served in hotel.   

Day 4: Chisapani to Nagarkot

After sunrise views and breakfast, we start our trek to Nagarkot. This (Chisapani Nagarkot Trekking) is quite a long day passing through Jarsipauwa. This route is also quite and scenic with constant view of Himalayan peaks. We will reach Nagarkot after almost 7 hrs of walking. Lunch will be taken en route. 

Once in Nagarkot, if you still have energy, you can continue your walk to Nagarkot view tower to watch sunset view. Dinner will be in the hotel. 

Day 5: Yoga and Meditation retreat

Wake up early to enjoy sunrise views and panorama of Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest if the weather is clear. Afterwards, drive to Yoga retreat center for about 30 minutes.

On your arrival at Yoga center, you will have registration and short consultation with Yoga guru followed by traditional nasal cleansing.

At about 7.30am, your Yoga session starts with Mantra chanting (Bhakti Yoga), Warm-up exercise, Surya Namaskar (Spinal Asana), Pranayama (breathing exercise), Bandha and Shanti path (Peace mantra)

After Yoga session, you will have Yogic breakfast followed by relaxation.

At about 11.00am, you will have Therapy session and it includes

• One hour Ayurveda massage
• 30 minutes Ayurveda steam

At about 1 pm, you will have lunch followed by relaxation.

After lunch you will have philosophy class and meditation (simple technique)

At about 3.00pm, we will pick up you and drive to your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 6: Dhulikhel, Namobuddha and Panauti tour

After breakfast, drive from Kathmandu to Dhulikhel which will take half an hour. Dhulikhel is great viewpoint to see sunrise and Himalayan peaks. Afterwards we will leave Dhulikhel for Namobuddha which is just 30 minutes’ drive away. Namobuddha is situated on the top of a hill overlooking Panauti bazaar. Namobudhha is a sacred shrine where Buddha is said to have sacrificed his own flesh to starving cubs of a tiger. 

The tour continues from Namobuddha to Panauti which takes just about half an hour. Panauti is a medieval Newari town full of beautiful temples and steeped in rich history. Trivenighat, Indreshwar Mahadev temple, Brahmayani temple are major sites to visit in Panauti. By evening we will get back to Kathmandu

Day 7: Dakshinkali, pharping and Kirtipur day tour

Early morning you will drive to Dakshankali Temple located south of Kathmandu. Dakshinkali is a Hindu temple where animals are sacrificed to please the goddess and acquire powers. 

Afterwards you will head to Pharping to explore Padmasambhav Cave (about 20 minutes hike) along with Vajra Yogini temple, Shesh Narayan temple and Asur Gupha (Tibetan Buddhism). Lunch will be in Pharping. 

The tour continues as we move further to Chovar and Kirtipur where you will visit Manjushree Park, Jal Binayak and Uma Maheshwor Temple. There is a sacred stone near Uma Maheshwor temple where scratching your back against it is believed to relieve back pain. Kirtipur also offers superb sprawling view of Kathmandu Valley along with Himalayan peaks. By late afternoon we will return to Kathmandu. 

Day 8: Departure

Have your breakfast at your own pace since there is no special program today. Feel free to go shopping or spa or anything you wish to do

Note 1: Note that we will pick you up from your hotel 3 hrs before the flight departure time. Usually the checkout time in Nepali hotels is before noon (12.00pm).
