Kathmandu & Nagarkot Tour 4 Days: Heritage, Sunrise & Scenic Views

Details Itinerary: 

Day 1: Arrival

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our tour guide will receive you and escort you to your hotel. Our tour manager will conduct a short briefing session about the tour. 

If you are experiencing jet lag, we suggest you to take a proper rest. If you are still energetic, we will take you to the following places on a short sightseeing tour:

1. Ason (vegetable and spice market)
2. Indrachowk (Ancient trading point)
3. Kathmandu Durbar Square (UNESCO world heritage site featuring medieval palaces, wood and stone carvings and Kumari Ghar)

Note: If your arriving late, this program will be postponed to the day of your departure. We ensure that you will not miss any interesting places. 

Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing tour

  Description: 1 hr Everest mountain flight offers close-up views of 8000m mountain peaks such as Everest, Manaslu, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Cho Oyu and many others.

Enjoy early mountain flight from Kathmandu airport. After mountain flight you will drive back to your hotel. 

Regular Tour of 3 night 4 days Nepal tour: 

At 9.30am, your tour guide will pick you up from hotel and take you for Kathmandu Sightseeing. You will first visit Swoyambhunath Stupa, also called Monkey Temple, is the oldest Buddhist stupa. It is the best place to observe the religious harmony between Hindus and Buddhists who flock the temple to offer prayers to Buddha and Goddess. The next destination we visit is Boudhanath Stupa which is a center of pilgrimage especially for Tibetan devotees. Here you will also have opportunity to meet Tibetan monks, observe Tibetan culture and monastery. 

Afterwards we drive to Pashupatinath, an ancient temple of Lord Shiva. You have much to do here from observing Lord Shiva temple and Hindu crematory sites to interact with Sadhus and Aghoris. After receiving blessing from Sadhus, our trip will continue to Patan Durbar Square. On our arrival we will first have lunch in one of the medieval courtyards. 

After lunch, we continue our tour of Golden Temple, Khumbeshwor Temple, Bhimsen Temple, Krishna Temple, Patan Museum and palaces. 

Note: If time permits, we will also visit Gaja Hiti (traditional water spout) and Mahaboudha.

It will be evening by the time we prepare to leave Patan. Once in Kathmandu we will go to a Nepal restaurant to enjoy authentic Nepali dinner and traditional dance performance. Post dinner you will return to hotel for overnight rest. 

Day 3: Nagarkot sunrise tour with Bhaktapur sightseeing

At 4.30am, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and start 75 minutes journey to Nagarkot. On arrival at Nagarkot we will go straight to the tower to enjoy sunrise and a panorama of Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest, Langtang, Ganesh Himal etc. Afterwards we will go to one of the hotels in Nagarkot to sip hot tea/coffee with our packed breakfast. After breakfast we will go for a short hiking to nearby village of Nagarkot to enjoy scenery around. We will then drive to Bhaktapur to explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square and around. Important attractions of Bhaktapur are 55-windows palace, Pujari Mhat, Dattatraya Square, Taumadhi, Pottery Square and Durbar Square. Famous temples of Bhaktapur are Bhairavnath, Fasidega, Nyatapola, Jagannath, Golden Gate and Taleju. 

Bhaktapur is a living museum for Newari art, architecture and culture. Despite the influence of western culture in other destinations, Bhaktapur still retains its medieval charm, culture and lifestyle. We highly encourage you to have traditional meals, drinks and famous local yoghurt called Juju Dhau.

We will return to Kathmandu by evening and escort you to your hotel for overnight rest. 

Day 4: Departure

Have your breakfast at your own leisure pace since there is no special program today. Whether you would like to go shopping or spa, we recommend you to do so. 

Note 1: Kindly note we will pick you up from your hotel 3 hrs. before the flight departure time. Usually the checkout time in Nepali hotels is before noon (12.00pm). 

Note 2: For those who could not manage to go on sightseeing tour due to your late arrival in Nepal on the first day, you will have that program today. The guide will inform you about the pick-up time one day prior.
