Day 04: Kathmandu to Pokhara (Drive)

We left Kathmandu behind and began the 200-kilometre journey towards Pokhara, passing through one of the most beautiful highways in Nepal. The route passes through dramatic turns, crosses turbulent rivers, and offers panoramic views of fertile valleys surrounded by forested hills.

As we descended from the Kathmandu Valley, the landscape began to unfold like a living canvas – every turn in the road offered sweeping views of farmland tumbling down from the hills, old villages perched on peaks and glistening rivers flowing through rugged terrain.

Day 05: Flight to Jomsom and pilgrimage drive to the holy Muktinath Temple

Start the morning with breakfast, then take a short 25-minute flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, where the journey will take you through thrilling aerial views of the lush valleys and towering peaks that define the heart of Nepal’s Himalayan landscape. Upon arrival at Jomsom, a hotel representative will be waiting for you to escort you to your accommodation. After a seamless check-in, the next leg of your journey will take you on a 90-minute drive to the Muktinath Temple, located 20 km away. As you travel along the Kaligandaki River, you will enjoy the beauty of the rugged landscapes and the serenity of this sacred area. From Ranipauwa Jeep Station, it’s a short but invigorating 20-minute hike to reach the Muktinath Temple, situated at a lofty 3,710 meters above sea level. The journey is not just a physical ascent but also a spiritual one, with each step bringing you closer to one of Nepal’s most sacred sites. At Muktinath Temple, immerse yourself in spiritual practice by participating in rituals and praying. The sacred ponds nearby invite pilgrims to take a holy dip, believed to wash away sins. While visiting, make sure to visit the Jwalamai Temple dedicated to the goddess of fire before returning to Jomsom. If you wish, take a detour through Kagbeni, a picturesque village rich in Tibetan culture. On reaching Pokhara, check into your hotel and relax by the serene lakeside. The relaxed ambiance of the city is a perfect contrast to the rugged Himalayan terrain of Mustang. And later, start your sightseeing tour of Pokhara.

After breakfast, begin your 4-5 hour drive from the mountainous terrain to the Terai plains. The route changes dramatically from winding mountain roads to subtropical flatlands, passing through lush forests, river valleys and rural settlements. You will feel the change in climate and landscape as you reach the Terai region, known for its warm temperatures, fertile soil and unique cultural fabric influenced by Tharu heritage.
Arrival and Check-in:

The first leg of the journey involves a 300-kilometre drive from Lumbini to Kathmandu, followed by a 30-kilometre uphill drive eastward to Nagarkot.
