The Annapurna Circuit Trek is a classic and popular trekking route that encircles the majestic Annapurna massif, starting from either Bhote Order or Gorkha, located west of Kathmandu. Throughout the trek, you will have the opportunity to enjoy breathtaking views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and the iconic Machhapuchre.
One of the highlights of this trek is the high Throng Pass (5414m), which takes you from the arid valley of the upper Manang, home of the Tibeto-Buddhists, down to the Hindu pilgrimage site of Muktinath, and through the world's deepest river gorge, the Kali Gandaki valley, before descending to Pokhara. Along the way, you will encounter a diverse range of mountain communities, including the Gurung, Manangi, and Thakali people.
While the Annapurna Circuit Trek used to be a long journey, the introduction of road accessibility up to Syange has shortened the trek. Our proposed itinerary now includes an overland journey combined with the trek, with the road leading to the Marshyangdi River valley and proposed to be connected to Chame town in the near future.

Highlights

  • High Throng Pass: The trek takes you over the high Throng Pass, standing at 5,416 meters above sea level. It offers stunning panoramic views and connects the arid valley of upper Manang with the Hindu pilgrimage site of Muktinath.
  • Diverse Mountain Communities: Along the trek, you'll encounter various mountain communities such as the Gurung, Manangi, and Thakali people. You can learn about their unique cultures, traditions, and lifestyles.
  • Breathtaking Mountain Views: The Annapurna Circuit Trek provides breathtaking views of some of the world's highest peaks, including Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchre (Fishtail), Nilgiri, and more. The scenic beauty of the Himalayas is awe-inspiring.
  • Natural Hot Springs: You'll have the opportunity to take a dip in the natural hot springs at Tatopani. It's a refreshing experience after days of trekking.
  •  Manang District: The trek takes you through the picturesque Manang district, known for its stunning lakes, glaciers, deep gorges, and waterfalls. The district offers unique natural beauty and is a delight for nature lovers.
  • Muktinath: The sacred site of Muktinath is a highlight of the trek. It is revered by both Hindus and Buddhists and is known for its 108 stone faucets and eternal flame. It's a spiritual and cultural experience.
  • Unique Cultural Experiences: You'll get the chance to explore traditional Gurung villages, visit monasteries like the Barge Monastery, and witness the unique culture and traditions of Jomsom, the headquarters of Mustang.
  • Scenic Landscapes: The trek takes you through diverse landscapes, including lush forests of rhododendrons and oaks, river valleys, high mountain passes, and arid terrain. The ever-changing scenery is captivating.
  • Panoramic Views from Poon Hill: You'll have the opportunity to hike to Poon Hill viewpoint, situated at an altitude of 3,210 meters. From there, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas, including the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
  • Road Accessibility: While the Annapurna Circuit Trek used to be a long journey, the introduction of road accessibility up to Syange has shortened the trek. This allows for a combined overland journey and trek, making it more accessible to a wider range of trekkers.
